The latest range by Papillon Belle is influenced by the Art Deco movement and pays homage to the original inspiration behind the brand.
After inheriting two pieces of jewellery containing real butterfly wings from her grandmother, owner Audrey Botha embarked on a six month journey to create a modern range of heirloom quality jewellery inspired by butterflies.
Butterfly jewellery was popular in in the Victorian era and featured heavily in design during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. The Art Deco range by Papillon Belle embraces a contemporary take on this classic genre.
The earrings contain sparkly Druzy Quartz stones. Druzy Quartz are created by a natural process that forms tiny crystals on a host stone, creating the sparkling beauty of these gemstone cabochons. The color of our druzies have been enhanced in a chemical process called Chemical Vapor Deposition(CVD) in which the druzies are exposed in a gaseous environment that contains a metal like titanium. During the process the metal bonds on a molecular level with the mineral resulting in a spectacular rainbow of colors.
Our delicate jewellery needs to be stored in its original packaging and handled with care. The jewellery will benefit from regular cleaning.
